How do you use Future Goals – Hockey ScholarTM in your class?
Hockey Scholar’s emphasis on critical thinking makes it relevant for all my STEM students. My 6th and 7th graders use the program as enrichment. My 8th graders are required to complete the program as a review of physical science concepts.
What do you like about the program?
Hockey Scholar is easy to implement and supports student-centered learning. The program empowers students to take charge of their learning, with many choosing to jump ahead of the benchmarks I set. Lastly, the program supports problem-based learning and allows students to apply learning to real-world problems.
With the many online educational programs that are available today for schools, why did you choose to use EverFi?
EverFi stands out because it covers high-level STEM content in an engaging and self-guided way. Other tools I’ve used often felt like “tests” for students, which reduced engagement. With EverFi, I rarely hear comments about how “boring” or “irrelevant” it was. Students can see how their learning translates to solving real-world problems.
