Are you building effective, comprehensive prevention efforts? Earn recognition by receiving an EVERFI Impact Award
Recognizing Prevention Excellence
The Campus Prevention Network’s (CPN) Prevention Excellence Awards recognizes institutions who have demonstrated success at creating safe and healthy college campuses. This year, the award is expanding, along with EVERFI’s commitment to student health and safety.
EVERFI began its work in higher ed by taking on the intractable issues of alcohol and other drug use and sexual and relationship violence. We are now extending our reach to include the critical issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Wellness and Mental Health.
The power of the CPN has also extended the reach of the Prevention Excellence Awards beyond Higher Education, and in 2019, we are proud to announce the EVERFI Impact Award: an honor recognizing those creating meaningful change across all of EVERFI’s Networks, to include K-12, Higher Education, Corporations, and Adult Education.
Members of the Campus Prevention Network will be eligible for Impact Awards that recognize excellence in Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention, Sexual Assault Prevention, and for the first time in 2019, excellence in Fraternity and Sorority Life.
How to Apply for a Prevention Excellence Award
In order to be considered for a prestigious Impact Award and demonstrate your commitment to creating a safe and healthy college campus, National Fraternities, Sororities, and Institutions will need to complete one of EVERFI’s Diagnostic Inventories:
- Sexual Assault Diagnostic Inventory (SADI) – for campuses
- Alcohol Diagnostic Inventory (ADI) – for campuses
- Fraternity and Sorority Diagnostic Inventory (FASDI) – for National Greek Letter Organizations
Campuses and Organizations are eligible to complete the Diagnostic Inventories by pledging to implement effective, evidence-informed prevention efforts. You can sign the pledge and join the 1,700 campuses that have committed to doing the best work possible by going to the Campus Prevention Network website. After signing the pledge, you will receive instructions for completing the Diagnostic Inventory of your choice.
Development of EVERFI’s Diagnostic Inventories
Created utilizing a public health framework, and informed by an intensive literature review and identification of evidenced-based best practices, the Diagnostic tools help Institutions and organizations identify their current prevention strengths and areas for improvement.
EVERFI researchers conducted an extensive analysis of prevention guidelines, recommendations, standards, and best practices from research publications. From this research, we identified distinct recommendations across twenty different categories related to prevention.
In collaboration with leading researchers and nationwide prevention professionals, the recommendations were then translated into a comprehensive assessment tool measuring prevention efforts across four key dimensions that inform our Campus Prevention Network framework:
- Critical processes
Winners of the Impact Award will have earned advanced designations in the categories of programming, policy, critical processes, and institutionalization.
On behalf of the Campus Prevention Network, we want to ensure that you have enough time to complete one of our Diagnostic Inventories. To be considered for a 2019 Impact Award, you must complete your assessment by Friday, March 15.
