Learning That Grows Into Savings
Everfi works with sponsors to connect what students learn to funded accounts that help them save and invest for the future. Depending on the sponsor and program, contributions can go to:
- 529 education savings plans
Tax-advantaged accounts that help families save for college, career training, and other qualified education expenses. - 530A investment accounts
Federally supported, long-term investment accounts that can grow in a child’s name over time.
When learning comes with real savings, students don’t just study how money grows. They watch it happen and build on it long after the lesson ends.
A Closer Look at 530A Investment Accounts
For eligible students, financial concepts become connected to something real: an investment account in their own name. Through philanthropic scholarships and federally funded programs, students can have a head start in planning their financial futures.
About 530A Investment Accounts
530A Investment Accounts accounts are federally supported, long-term investment accounts for children under 18. The U.S. treasury has automatically created an account for every eligible child with a valid Social Security number, so most families already have one waiting. A parent or guardian can claim the account through the official app to manage it and let family, friends, and employers contribute. Funds are invested in low-cost index funds made up of mostly U.S. company stocks, and can grow in the child’s name over time.
Children age 10 and under living in ZIP codes where the median household income is $150,000 or less are eligible to receive a $250 contribution to get started. Children who are U.S. citizens born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 receive a $1,000 federal deposit automatically.
Program eligibility, account rules, contribution requirements, and investment details are subject to applicable federal rules and program terms.
