Back to School with EVERFI!

EVERFI is excited to announce new courses that your students can engage in this 2022-2023 school year! EVERFI is constantly thinking of new resources to build and share with you to continue the mission of preparing your students for career and life success. The new EVERFI courses are Build: Credit Fundamentals (9th-12th), SaveUp: Saving Money for the Future (6th-8th), Sustainability Foundations: Ready to Recycle (5th-8th), and Get Digital: Safety in the Metaverse. Build: Credit Fundamentals (9th-12th)

Build: Credit Fundamentals teaches students the fundamentals of maintaining and managing a healthy credit score with a focus on credit awareness through a simulation aspect, explains what good credit is and its long-term effects on a person’s financial life, and enables learners to identify scams and inaccuracies on credit reports and how to deal with them effectively. This course will allow students to engage with critical decision points of the credit building process. 

The five digital lessons within the course are:

Lesson 1: Intro- What is Credit? 

Lesson 2: Acquiring Credit 

Lesson 3: Growing Credit 

Lesson 4: Managing Credit 

Lesson 5: Addressing Issues with Credit 

SaveUp: Saving Money for the Future (6th-8th)

SaveUp builds on the personal finance knowledge and skills that students may have learned in FutureSmart with a specific emphasis on the importance of opening and maintaining a savings account. This course provides middle schoolers the knowledge and skills they need to become better informed consumers on how to save money. Students learn why saving is important, how to budget and spend wisely, and how to open up a savings account. 

The four digital lessons within the course are: 

Lesson 1: Saving Money and Spending Wisely 

Lesson 2: Setting Goals and Planning Ahead 

Lesson 3: Why Use a Savings Account?

Lesson 4: How to Open Up a Savings Account

Courses to Kickstart Financial Literacy Education for Middle School Students

Sustainability Foundations: Ready to Recycle (5th-8th)

In Sustainability Foundations: Ready to Recycle, learners explore environmental systems and understand how human health, climate change, global resource constraints, and animal welfare are all interconnected. Students engage in activities that will have them thinking about refining vs. recycling, single-stream recycling, and making sustainable life choices. By learning about recycling, students will also discover that there are economic impacts when we don’t reuse materials. 

The three digital lessons within the course are: 

Lesson 1: The Single-Stream Recycling Journey 

Lesson 2: Mining & Refining vs. Recycling 

Lesson 3: Making Sustainable Choices

Get Digital: Safety in the Metaverse (8th – 12th) – Coming Soon!

One might ask- What is the metaverse? So let me explain. The metaverse refers to an open digitally-enhanced virtual space where users can socialize, work, and play through an avatar. Get Digital: Safety in the Metaverse, powered by Meta, will approach the topic of privacy and safety in the metaverse. The self-paced lessons of this course will also focus on how there are opportunities to be had for all learners in the expansion of the metaverse. The course will discuss digital safety and wellness as well as highlight the opportunities that lie ahead for students in today’s world. 

The two digital lessons of the course are:

Lesson 1: What is the Metaverse? 

Lesson 2: Privacy, Safety, and Wellbeing
