EVERFI, Inc., a leading social impact education innovator, today announced that 794 school districts across the U.S. and Canada are this year’s recipients of the EVERFI Empowered Seal. Now in its second year, the EVERFI Empowered Seal is a designation awarded to K-12 school districts that have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to EVERFI’s comprehensive, evidence-informed digital education strategies on issues of financial literacy, social-emotional learning, health, wellness, and sustainability.

Districts are awarded the EVERFI Empowered Seal based on a variety of criteria, including the Principles of Effective Prevention Programs published by Nation, et al. (2003). This meta-analysis of high-impact practices across diverse well-being topics has been widely disseminated and adopted among education and prevention practitioners. EVERFI has adapted these principles into measurable technology metrics that represent quality and drive impact. Additionally, districts and individual schools that have displayed a commitment to areas of critical learning, demonstrated by greater than 10 percent of the student population using EVERFI resources, are eligible to receive the EVERFI Empowered Seal.

“It’s important that we arm our youngest learners and our most at-risk communities with the education they need to drive ecosystems of change to break the repetitive cycles we have seen for generations,” said Alice Lee, senior vice president, K-12 Implementation, EVERFI. “We recognize the skills students need to be successful, upwardly mobile, and empowered in the 21st century will go beyond just the core curriculum. We applaud these forward-thinking schools and districts for their commitment to preparing students to navigate the opportunities and challenges of their time.”

Used by more than 7,500 school districts across the U.S. and Canada, EVERFI provides critical programming needed to address the missing learning layer in school. Through innovative strategic partnerships with private sector organizations, EVERFI’s critical skills education is available to schools at no cost and reaches millions of K-12 students each year.

“We have found that using EVERFI programs in our district has given us the opportunity to provide education in many critical areas,” said T. Alan Cox, Ph.D., assistant superintendent, Leon County Schools. “These comprehensive, evidence-based programs have allowed us to empower our students with vital information that will last well beyond their school years.”

For more than 13 years EVERFI has provided digital education covering critical skills topics to K-12 students and is committed to supporting school districts in making a transformational change to the well-being and equity of their communities. The EVERFI Empowered Seal aligns with EVERFI’s mission and helps raise awareness of the value of whole-child, real-world education.
