President and Co-Founder

Ray Martinez is Co-Founder and President of EVERFI. In this capacity, he leads the company’s Financial Education business unit. EVERFI’s Financial Education offerings power financial capability programs for hundreds of financial institutions across the country. Through Ray’s vision and leadership, EVERFI’s Financial Capability Network has grown to include more than 800 financial institutions that deliver critical personal finance, entrepreneurship, and investment education to K-12 students and adults in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

During Ray’s tenure at EVERFI, he has led a number of the company’s critical initiatives including designing large scale strategic partnerships with MassMutual, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, TCF Bank, TIAA, TD Bank, Santander, Fifth Third Bank, Truist, along with many others with corporations and nonprofits. His leadership has helped EVERFI power education programs that have brought critical skills to more than 41 million learners and 25,000 schools.

Ray has deep connections to Puerto Rico and is passionate about closing the achievement gap for children and families and bringing increasing business opportunities to the island. This has been especially important to him following the devastation resulting from Hurricane Maria in 2017. He has worked both individually and with EVERFI strategic partners in a growing commitment to rebuild key infrastructure and ensure that students have the technology and skills necessary to be competitive in a global economy. Ray serves on the National Board of Directors for the Jump$tart Coalition as well as on the Board of Directors of PROG Holdings. He is a sought-after speaker and media contributor on topics related to financial wellness education and technology. In 2019, he was awarded Washington Business Journal’s Minority Business Leader Award.
