SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST DETAILS
Over the course of this five-day challenge, students will explore financial decision making on five topics: Spending and Saving, Credit and Debt, Employment and Income, Investing, and Insurance.
After completing the five challenges, students are invited to submit a short essay and share their financial dreams and how they plan to get there. Three winners will receive college scholarships in amounts up to $10,000, and their essays will be shared on the National Financial Bee website!

Students will answer the following prompt (in 300-500 words):
What is your biggest financial dream? What have you learned from this course that will help you achieve your dream? And, what are the immediate next steps you need to take to help you get there?
Three essay contest winners will receive a college scholarship as follows:
$10,000 Scholarship -- 1st Place Winner
$6,000 Scholarship -- 2nd Place Winner
$4,000 Scholarship -- 3rd Place Winner
HOW IT WORKS AND ELIGIBILITY
Once you have completed all five challenges in the National Financial Bee, please reflect on what you have learned and submit your contest entry in the form provided in the course. Suggested length: 300 – 500 words. This scholarship contest is open to any U.S. or Canadian student between 13-18 years of age on April 20, 2020, who completes all five challenges in the National Financial Bee course. Entries must be submitted by May 8, 2020.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
A committee of EVERFI judges will select the winners from May 15 to May 22, 2020. Entries will be judged based on creativity, the content of the message, quality of writing, and demonstrated understanding of the financial concepts from the course. Three winners in total will be selected. With written approval, winning entries may be featured by EVERFI and their affiliates. Winners will each receive a 529 College Savings Scholarship.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be between 13-18 years of age on April 20, 2020. Winners in the United States will receive a 529 College Savings gift card. Students are able to use the gift card for any 529 College Savings Plan of their choice. For more information about the gift cards, visit www.leafsavings.com. Canadian winners will receive a contribution to a registered education savings plan (RESP) of their choosing. Please note that prizes will be awarded in United States dollars, regardless of where the student resides. Winners will be emailed an authorization form that a parent or guardian must complete and return within three weeks in order to receive the gift card. EVERFI and its affiliates shall have the right, title, and interest to use, market and otherwise own the content of the submitted contest entry to be used anonymously and with no personal identifiers. With written parental consent, EVERFI and its affiliates shall have the right to attribute the submitted contest entry to a student’s name.
